After WWII, it was in Victory. After 9/11/01 it was in adversity. We are now in a battle with a Virus that is killing more Americans than 9/11 and instead of a foreign adversary it's an epidemiological adversary. I, personally, WISH we could come together to support one-another to defeat the virus as we have other enemies.
The heroes of 9/11 were the first responders. FIre fighters, Paramedics, NYPD, Doctors and other medical professionals. Today it's still Medical professionals, nurses, Doctors, etc. IF we truly NEVER FORGET, perhaps we can reconnect to the sense of community and care for one-another that was evoked by prior victories and adversity.
NEVER FORGET. More have now died FROM being at 9/11 than died IN 9/11. May they and the 190K Americans who have died of this virus, get the same feeling of empathy for their family's loss.
